Our History

Dubois sportsmen and sportswomen organized a non-profit shooting facility over 20 years ago. Initially using an unimproved range on private land, the Dubois Gun Club acquired a 260 acre site, located 3.9 miles west of downtown Dubois eight years ago. There is a full complement of facilities at the range.

Gun Club activities include, trap, skeet, pistol, silhouette, 22 rifle silhouette, action pistol, running elk shoots, turkey shoots for shotgun, rifle and pistol, bench rest, and youth and adult air rifle. There are qualified instructors in the club for all shooting events to help those who want to come out and learn how to shoot.

The range is open every day during daylight hours for plinking and practice. Certified instructors teach classes in safety, rifle, pistol and shotgun. Classes are family oriented and all ages are encouraged to become involved.

General membership meetings are held at the Town hall on the third Monday of each month at 7 PM. Memberships expire on December 31st of each calendar year.

For dues not paid by March 1st, there is an additional fee of $5 for late renewal. The Club publishes a monthly newsletter with a complete two month shooting schedule. All members receive the newsletter.

The range gate has a lock-key system and there is a $5 deposit for a key which is changed annually at no additional charge. Memberships are for one family which consists of a husband, wife and all children up to the age of 18. No discounts are given for single memberships. Non-members must pay a $5 range fee per day for use of the range.
